MY Thoroughbred wont stop when she is running?

My TB is seven just bought her about 2 weeks ago. I ran her the other day and she would not stop and nearly did not slow down. She kept running and once she felt the pressure of the reigns as i tried to slow her down, she just sped up! She is currently using a MikMar combination bit for english/western. with the nose rope for pressure on the nose but she pulls against me so Im uming the bit is not working for her. Any suggestions for me? Or strategies? I even tried the one reign stop as my last resort when I noticed she wasnt responding and she used her strength against the pressure. PLEASE NO RUDE COMMENTS.
