When i tried to burn a wma file it said it couldnt because of copywrite laws??

when i tried to burn some wma files i downloaded from bearshare it said i couldnt and when i opened the rights properties it said it was protected and can only be played until may 17. does this mean that after may 17 it wont play anymore??? what about if its in my mp3 player does this still count?? WHAT THE HELL DOES THIS MEAN???!!
