Christians: What is your understanding of Jesus’ words at Mathew 23:5-12?

Jesus is warning us not to be like the religious leaders because they wanted the praise of men just like Satan wanted in the garden of Eden. We also see today they clergy of Christendom acting the same way. It is interesting the bible tells us these would be earmarks of the "man of lawlessness" and the "Antichrist". Amazing how it fits religious leaders today.
